Week in review

A hodgepodge of activities this week that started with me finishing the score to a short art film “Uniting States” by Isabel Czerwenka-Wenkstetten  and Leslie Fry. While I can’t show you the full project(as it is to be debuted in Berlin)  here is the score (there is about 10 seconds of silence at the start):

On my way back from watching the Space Shuttle (STS-125) launch , I picked up the new business/promo cards for the Gulfport Tuesday Fresh Market.  Looking good, hope they work for attracting new vendors/artists/performers. Speaking about the TF Market.  It was a quieter day.  No new vendors, but people seemed to be the same density.  Riding home from Gulfport I stopped to take a photo of a developing proto-storm system and was approached by “E”  who after asking if I wanted weed said he could find anything that I wanted.  I thanked him for his proactiveness and headed home empty handed.

Later that evening I chatted with Kirsten LR who accepted waaay early retirement (or something) and is embarking on a new career as owner of a Bed ‘n Breakfast in Savannah Georgia.  She is presently scouting for the desired location and soon La Chateau Noir Savanna will be ready for you to visit!

Wednesday was fun with Kurt as we headed to the local TV station CW44 for his interview about the eco-work he is doing in Clam Bayou.   Picked up some good footage from the CW44 outing a few weeks ago and will be reviewing and posting on Kurt’s developing Clam Bayou awareness site BringBacktheBayou.com

Wednesday also found me filing my annual report with the state of Florida.. wahoo.  Dropping off the recycling at the new and closer station I found at Cresent Lake Park, dropping Shelley’s bike off for its 30 day inspection (my GT Gutterball will head in next week) , watching the first storms roll in and waiting for Shelley to return from her last class of the term! tick tock tick tock tick tock

Thursday was “Explore British Pub themed restaurants” in St. PEtersburg day.  Well not for everyone just Shelley and I as we visited Moon under Water for lunch and Limey’s for dinner. My  Google business cards arrived!!!!!   More of a novelty than a useful item I think.  But I am up for trading for one of yours if you got them!  That evening was filled with more relaxing and falling asleep to Flash Gordon.  The jury is still out about how it ranks compared to Barbarella.

On my ride about St. Petersburg Friday I saw that the Sea Faire has been turned about so it pointed pout of the harbor.   A little Googling about provided me with the information that it is an art expo ship that travels along the eastern seaboard of the US as a mobile gallery and event space.  My next step is to get on board.  I also called a the local “drag the big add behind the airplane” company to see what they do with the older banners as I have a project or two that would benefit from them as a starting point.

More to learn!
