It was a weekend of fast things and fake bushes.  Friday was a drive to Titusville, Florida for the launch of the Endeavor on STS-127 (Fast thing #1) to the International Space Station.  Although it was a grand adventure the Space Shuttle did not launch due to a leak in the hydrogen fueling system.

Tonight’s launch of the space shuttle Discovery was beautiful.   This is the third launch that I have seen from about 150 miles away.  It takes nearly 30 seconds from the time of main engines light to when it comes up over the horizon.
