Six Million Hits

Earlier today I asked all of you What do you call a group of people who misrepresent themselves in order to get people to give them free stuff? And you answered with:

  • sheisters
  • Con-Artists
  • mooches
  • thieves
  • grifters
  • bloggers

So it seems that there is a group presently visiting Gulfport that are claiming to have 6 million hits a month to their site.  The have leveraged this into food, places to stay, activities, all for free.

Looking at Alexa web stats they rank # 17,348,176. My poor excuse for a blog comes in at #6,198,519. I know I am not getting over 6 million hits a month.. WTF?

I became involved when kayaknature.com asked me to help out with some on the water filming and I’m looking forward to meeting the site owner to find out about his amazing traffic tips:

Patrick talks about being the “2nd” most popular blog in the nation and all those he’s interviewed. Apologies for my poor camera work

On top of it all their site has a horrible design – blech!

More when I get back.

Yeah it seems Patrick the blogger is really blowing smoke. Sadly there is not enough of a knowledge base in the area for folks to be aware of what is going on. The president of the chamber of commerce thinks he is awesome cause he is a blogger and touches on subjects like politics, book reviews and famous people.

Patrick’s actions and comments while getting ready to kayak further convince me that he is a kinda con artist. Blech!
