Science Fiction: Television Series

I’ve been watching my way through older Science Fiction television series. Where older = no longer in production.

So far I’ve watched:

  • Farscape:-) very good.  Sadly there was no 5th season leading for a rushed movie.
  • Sliders:-| meh. Two and a half good seasons out of 5.
  • Firefly:-) YAY.  One season and a feature movie was not enough
  • Stargate SG-1:-) Awesome. Ten seasons of goodness.
  • Red Dwarf:-) Good. British show with a unique spin.
  • The Prisoner:-) Surreal. A psychological exploration with psychedelic ending.
  • Babylon 5 - :-) a space soap opera and format pioneer, tackling larger social issues than who shot JR.

And am now alternatingly watching the original Twilight Zone and Gene Roddenberry’s Andromeda

I’d like to queue up a few other series but am at a loss as to what direction to head now.   What are some of your favorite series that you think I should watch?

Suggestions so far:

  • Dr. Who
  • Battlestar Galactica (New)
  • Star Trek DS-9
  • Andromeda
  • Earth: Final Conflict
  • Lexx
  • Blakes 7
  • Twilight Zone
  • :-)

Blake 7 –for sure. (cheesy graphics because it was another British series in the 70s, but a cool premise) Not sure if it was ever released on dvd.

Thanks for the suggestion! I skimmed the first bit of the Wikipedia entry and it looks good. I think I found a copy… working on getting it now.
