Fire Art

Since the PreHeat regional burn in April I’ve been working out  my concept of fire art.  What makes fire art vs the tools for creating fire.  For example a single naked flame effect I don’t see as art.  Art is the way that the flame effect is placed and how it is used.  More specifically think of a burn barrel, compare that to what has been created on Ocean Beach or used as part of the Flaming Lotus Girls’ Angel of the Apocalypse

I miss the vibrant fire art that existed on the west coast. So much so that I am in the beginning stages of organizing  a fire arts expo here in St. Petersburg, using the Crucible’s event as a model.  If you would like to participate or volunteer let me know…

I’m off to make phone calls to find a location and then get started on creating art with fire.
