A Clear Day with Wildlife

Sunny and clear weather with lots of wildlife out and about today. While riding to Gulfport I saw a dog hitching a ride on it’s owner’s scooter. Both driver and passenger looked content and enjoying the ride.

On my way back home I took a swing up Tampa Bay and into Coffee Pot Bayou. There was a flock (8+) of Osprey’s circling over the area where the two bodies of water joined. I’ve never seen so many over one area before. Further up into the bayou the manatees were out again doing their manatee thing of munch on grass and looking like algae covered mermaids (well not exactly) You’d have to be quite under the influence of the sun or rum to confuse those critters with contemporary mermaids.

I made a stop at The Pier and was again amazed at the clarity of the weather. Tampa, Bradenton, and the mysterious factory were sharper and clearer than they had been a few days before, though I wonder if that was an artifact of having the sun at a more oblique angle as opposed to overhead. USF students were out and about in the university’s sailboats, I kept waiting for one or two of the more aggressive “captains” to role his boat. Despite several hard heels they all remained upright.
