Bonsai
I remember as a youngster visiting my uncle and seeing a large plant on his table. He took the time to explain me that it was a tree called bonsai. Using the interwebbs I have learned that although the most common/traditional style is an evergreen, like a juniper, that any tree can be grown in the bonsai style.
I have started some lemon plants and have a few cherry trees that have been in the refrigerator waiting for my having time to plant them. I’m searching for some good planters to use to hold the growing trees. I’m keeping an eye open for something more organic and unique. For the lemon trees I’m trying to find something that is more tropical in design… say a coconut or maybe a tree trunk from a palm tree. For the cherry tree.. I have no idea… yet
I see bonsai as an exploration of a new art form and also going hand in hand with my theme for the year, production.
Coconuts floating in Tampa Bay beware, I’m coming for you!!
