Running late for the weekend wrap-up. Maybe because I have spent time riding my new bicycle!
Saturday was shopping day for the apartment and the pantry. With the special ability Angus has for knocking over glasses it was time to find some replacement wine glasses. As it happened Bed Bath & Beyond had a suitable style from Riedel . They have made the wine tastier! From there a stop at Target and then on to PetsMart for a pet watering fountain. Lastly was Rollin Oats. Think of it as an independent Trader Joes. While it does not have exactly the same product line it does fill the gap in between out of state visits.
Sunday the big fun bas a bike ride about St. Petersburg culminating with a spontaneous stop at a bike shop for Shelley to start exploring what she wanted in a new bike. It ended up she found a great new Schwinn Madison, only hers was black with yellow trim. It turned out I also found a new bike, the GT Gutterball. Along the ride we saw a pelican congress at The Pier, a horseshoe crab in the waters off Vinoy Park, and stopped to eat at the Rind Side Cafe, a blues themed sports bar. We each opted to get the Florida Cobb Salad.
The new bikes were definitely the high point of the weekend and continue to be so. Sunday night Shelley and I rapidly scooted all over the area where we live going faster on the new bikes than we ever had on our older ones.
Oh well. Sun is out and work almost done. Maybe I can squeeze in a short ride….
