Beach, Bradenton, & Best Friend

Monday night I found myself at Woody’s Roo on the River (or something like that) near Bradenton, Florida saying good by to Abbey, one of my best friends, as she was getting ready to return to Las Vegas the following day.  I tackled each of their margaritas in turn while munching on the house specialty, grouper fingers.  The mango margarita was a sweeter and tasty surprise.  After dinner Abbey headed back to relax and pack and I had a slow drive home. MooseB8 decided that it was favoring first gear and resolved to not shift for most of the trip.  It turned out to be a scenic drive up and over the Skyway Bridge.

On Tuesday I dropped MooseB8 off at the auto doctor and was back in Gulfport checking in with vendors and working on the Gulfport Goes Green and Tuesday Fresh Market sites.  Despite the smaller size of these events there has been an increase in the feedback, mostly positive.   Lots of the vendors do not have any Internet exposure, correspondingly they have not explored email etc either making it a bit of a challenge at times.

Wednesday I took a little bit of a sanity day going for a bike ride in the  morning in search of Alligators.  I was successful in getting close but no so that loss of limb occurred! Go Me!  I checked out how the dismantling of the St. Petersburg Grand prix was coming along before meeting Shelley for lunch.   After working on some client sites I headed out to Treasure Island Beach where I found an epidemic of writing names in the sand.  I stayed through the sunset but saw no green flash.

Thursday was fairly calm durning the day, working on client’s sites and coming to the conclusion that somewhere in the third season of Sliders the show went from OK, to kinda sucky. I switched to Babylon 5.  I got to chat with Maria, another of my bestest friends as she took the scenic way home from work.  Thursday evening Shelley and I went out exploring the local bar scene, Steve’s Bar, Uptown Bar, and Emerald Bar.   At UB there was a combination of Dj & MC that insisted on singing overtop reggae songs.  EB had a laptop DJ – playing a preset selection while he and two friends sat at a table in the back smoking cigars. (yeah you can still smoke in the bars in Florida)

Friday was adventure day!  (Adventure day is Shelley and I putting aside other things and having fun together) A stop at the Craftsman House for breakfast before heading off to Pass-A-Grille beach.  Several hours on the beach, a bike ride to Gulfport, dinner at Le Moulin Jaune (I had the fish, she had the shrimp) then back home (25 miles ridden that day) for a game of Baja Rummy and some Stargate SG-1.

So ends my week.

:-)
