2009 Solar Eclipse

2009 Solar Eclipse

On July 22, 2009 the longest total solar eclipse of the century occurs.  Lasting nearly 7 minutes.  It will be visible over parts of Asia from Norther Napal, over Shanghai, and then over the Pacific Ocean.

Although I had hopes to go and have not given up hope it looks like I will not get the chance to see this one. 2010 will pass with out a total solar eclipse and the 2011 total solar eclipse will be essentially over the south pole with the end just at the coast of Chile.  My next best chance will be in the south Pacific in November 2012.

Still if China is not a possibility, Paris is always an option :-)
